Serve as the primary client contact across tax, audit, and assurance engagements
Review complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and LLC filings
Provide technical expertise in tax law, compliance, and planning strategies
Utilize UltraTax (or similar) to review and manage tax engagements at a high level
Lead assurance and accounting engagements, applying GAAP and governmental (GASB) standards
Oversee client accounting functions and take ownership of ongoing books and financial reporting
Review work prepared by senior and staff accountants, ensuring accuracy and quality control
Supervise and mentor team members, supporting development and performance
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
~ 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience in both tax and assurance services
~3+ years of leadership experience managing staff, client engagements, and project workflows
~ Demonstrated success managing complex engagements for a variety of entity types, including S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates
~ Public accounting firm experience strongly preferred
~ Advanced knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, and applicable tax laws and regulations
~ Extensive experience reviewing and overseeing complex tax returns across multiple entity structures
~ Strong understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and governmental accounting standards (GASB/GAGAS)
~ Proficiency with leading tax and audit software platforms such as UltraTax, CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, or similar technologies
~ Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with a strong emphasis on Excel
~ Ability to communicate complex accounting and tax concepts clearly to clients and team members
~ Experience coaching, developing, and evaluating team performance while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction
