PFS is seeking highly experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join our in-house welding team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for welding our piping and vessel products, which are subject to internal pressure. Production welds are Xray examined to ensure compliance with applicable codes. We take pride in providing our welding team with all the resources necessary to obtain and maintain their welder qualifications. Primary base materials for welding are carbon and stainless steels, and we are also qualified and often weld a wide variety of other base metals including aluminum, duplex, Inconel, chromoly, and more.

Position Responsibilities:

40 hours per week with overtime as needed

Reading drawing prints and weld procedures (WPS)

Producing X-Ray quality welds consistently

NDE (weld examination) requirements, basic understanding, VT, PT, RT

Manual weld preparation for select components

Fit up of components to be welded, Flanges, Pipe, Couplings, Cones, Etc

Weld and blend grind as required

1 2" to 144" Pipe Diameter range (1" to 36" most common) (0.125" to 3.00" thick)

Strict Adherence to Weld Procedure for Process, Interpass Temps, weld wire, etc

Handling, overhead crane, etc

Welding equipment setup

Verify weld size using weld gauges

Use of various tools such as grinders, burr tools, wire brushes, etc.

Oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging duties

Strictly follow quality and safety standards

Inspect self and co-workers' layouts and fit ups

Skills & Qualifications:

3-5 years of related welding experience

X-ray experience a plus

Must have experience in

o GTAW (tig)

o FCAW (flux core dual shield wire)

Must pass weld testing in plate and pipe

o Single Side Full Penetration GTAW & FCAW in G1 position (flat)

o Xray examination of weld must pass

Proficient in the use of welding equipment, tools such as calipers, and gauges.

Positive Attitude and Ability to work Independently

Strong interpretive, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Willingness to share ideas and work collaboratively within a team

Basic math skills

SAW (sub arc) experience a plus

Pipe and Pressure Vessel welding experience a plus

General industrial fabrication experience a plus
