Job title : Welder/Fabricator

12 monts contract on W2

Job Responsibilities

• Install and remove drivetrain and braking components pertaining to medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers
• Monitor basic tests and record observations or issues.
• Operate lab equipment such as parts washer, power washer, truck hoist, trailer jack, in-ground scales
• Proficient in MIG welding process on Ferrous Material (Spray, Short Circuit, Spray pulse)
• Proficient in TIG welding Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Materials.
• Finish weld/repair support fixtures for test labs
• Other
• • Work safely in compliance with Cummins safety guidelines.
  • Maintain orderly work area in accordance with Cummins standards.

Job Requirements

• Education
• • Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience
• • Familiarity with mechanical systems and/or automotive background.
• Skills
• • Proficient with personal computers, Microsoft Excel/Word.
  • Mechanical ability.
  • Welding ability.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Understanding of measurement techniques (torque wrenches, dial indicators, Calipers, Micrometers, depth gauges, ETC).
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers.

• • Willingness to work overtime / weekends as needed.
  • Possibility of 20% Travel, able to travel both domestic and international.
  • Maintain attendance within corporate guidelines.
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • To possess or willing to obtain a CDL.
  • To possess or willing to obtain necessary hand tools to perform the at hand tasks (Standard and Metric sockets and wrenches up to 1"/24MM, rachets, pliers, prybars, allen wrenches, screw drivers, ECT).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 lbs and push/pull 150 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Pass basic physical examination and drug screen.

Additional information from the manager:

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, push and pull up to 150 lbs, and stand for extended periods of time.

The role involves receiving work requests through email and a work request system, communicating clearly and effectively, evaluating the tasks at hand, completing the required work, and accurately documenting the work performed.

The candidate should also be able to pass basic physical exam.

The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM.

When the manager is ready to move forward, he will be requesting 30-minute Phone interview followed by an in person 1-Hour Interview with selected candidates.
