Urgent Care LPN Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care in an outpatient clinical setting.

The LPN/LVN will perform patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, conduct clinical testing, document patient information, and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes.

Urgent Care LPN Schedule

• Three 10-hour shifts Monday-Friday
• Both Saturday and Sunday every other weekend
• Schedules are created in 6-week blocks
• Some major holiday coverage is required
• Initial 3 weeks of training/orientation are required
• Candidates must be available to complete the initial training without planned time off that would interfere with training

Urgent Care LPN Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient assessments and monitor overall health
• Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications within scope of practice
• Perform phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and point-of-care testing
• Monitor vital signs and identify abnormalities
• Evaluate patient conditions and document treatment responses
• Monitor pain levels and changes in patient condition
• Review medications for potential side effects and drug interactions
• Perform mental health screenings, including depression and mood assessments
• Accurately document patient medical history, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history in the electronic medical record
• Provide patient education related to medications, self-care, and disease management
• Connect patients with appropriate healthcare and community resources
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment

Urgent Care LPN Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in the state of practice and in good standing
• Compact licenses must be issued in the candidate's primary state of residence
• No current or prior disciplinary actions on the nursing license
• Minimum 1 year of related healthcare experience
• Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room
• Experience with:

  • Point-of-care testing
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Epic experience preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED required

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to long-term care settings such as nursing homes, home health, LTAC, or skilled nursing facilities will not be considered.

Pay Rate: $37.17/hour
