Day to day responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and work orders.

Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel components and assemblies.

Weld sheet metal, tubing, and structural components to precise specifications.

Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, beveling, and fitting parts before welding.

Set up and adjust welding equipment according to material thickness and job requirements.

Inspect parts for proper fit-up before welding to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Produce clean, sanitary welds that meet food-grade manufacturing standards.

Grind, polish, and finish welds as required to meet cosmetic and quality specifications.

Verify weld quality through visual inspection and measuring tools.

Repair weld defects and rework components when necessary.

Maintain tight tolerances while minimizing heat distortion and warping.

Collaborate with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams to complete production schedules.

Safely operate shop equipment such as:

Angle grinders

Belt sanders

Drill presses

Band saws

Material handling equipment

Follow all welding procedures and quality control standards.

Maintain a clean and organized welding station using good housekeeping practices.

Perform routine maintenance and inspection of welding machines, torches, and related equipment.

Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper PPE usage.

Complete production paperwork and document completed work as required.

Assist with fabrication, assembly, or other shop duties as production demands.
