Ginza Ichiban Cuisine
Ginza Ichiban Cuisine is located at Rita Rd., Quesnel, BC V2J 0C2. We are currently looking for a permanent, full time Sushi Chef. If you are interested, please submit your resume by e-mail or mail.
Position: Sushi Chef
Wage: CAD$35.00/hour
Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays)
Working hours: 30-40 hours/week
Benefits: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties:
Plan and instruct kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods
Develop and execute seasonal or special sushi menus to attract and retain customers in collaboration with management
Create special house sauce and new recipes to improve tastes and qualities of the dishes
Maintain precise portioning, seasoning, and presentation standards
Prepare all types of sushi including nigiri, sashimi, maki, specialty rolls, chefs specials, and specialty foods
Ensure health regulations and food safety policies are followed
Demonstrate new techniques and equipment
Supervise and train kitchen staff
Coordinate with suppliers and management to order and receive fresh, high-quality ingredients
Arrange repair and purchase of equipment
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies
Job Requirements:
Completion of secondary school;
Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
Cook's trade certification is an asset
Proficiency in fish filleting, including cleaning, boning, and slicing is an asset
Skills demonstration may be required.
