An established, mission-driven healthcare system in the Florida Panhandle is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a growing integrated cardiovascular service line within a collaborative academic environment.
This is a unique opportunity to help build a regional destination for complex cardiothoracic surgery, combining high-acuity clinical care with academic leadership, research, and innovation.
Position Overview- Full spectrum adult cardiac and thoracic surgery
- On-pump & off-pump CABG, mitral repair, arrhythmia surgery
- Endovascular & open aortic surgery (including dissection repair)
- Minimally invasive and robotic thoracic procedures
- Lung resections, esophagectomy, and complex foregut procedures
- Participation in a growing, high-acuity cardiovascular program
- 400 heart surgeries annually
- High-volume TAVR program
- Lead extraction referral center
- 1:4 call schedule
- Strong APP support (5 APRNs)
- Established, collaborative cardiology team:
- Interventional, non-invasive, electrophysiology, and vascular specialists
- Monday Friday practice (8 5)
- Faculty appointment with a major academic partner
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows
- Participate in curriculum development and program growth
- Lead and collaborate on clinical research and innovation initiatives
- Opportunities for publication, presentations, and grant funding
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Completion of General Surgery Residency + Cardiothoracic Fellowship
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Eligible for Florida medical licensure
- Large regional referral center serving a multi-state population

- Advanced ICU and surgical infrastructure
- Recently completed major capital expansion with modern ORs, ICUs, and interventional suites
