Ironworkers are a great fit for this position. Trade Testing is easy to get through.
Hair follicle drug test though. Background screening (govt work type)
$42 and $145 days worked per diem! Plenty of OT and work available for more than a year!
The Structural Ironworker plays a critical role in large industrial projects, assembling and installing steel frameworks that form the backbone of construction structures. Operating within both small teams and large crews, this role requires precision in reading blueprints, adherence to safety standards, and effective collaboration to ensure structural integrity and project success.
Responsibilities
- Install steel components for structural frameworks on large industrial projects
- Assemble metal frameworks according to specifications and blueprints
- Interpret and work from detailed blueprints and plans
- Assist in welding tasks to secure structural elements
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures on site
- Handle and move materials efficiently and safely
- Provide structural support during installation and assembly phases
- Perform rigging operations to position materials and equipment
- Operate relevant equipment as needed for ironworking tasks
- Collaborate effectively with team members within both small teams and large crews
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in structural ironworking
- Proficient in blueprint reading for structural projects
- Skilled in rigging and hoisting operations
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and compliance
- Demonstrated physical stamina for demanding work conditions
- Effective teamwork and communication abilities
- Problem-solving skills relevant to on-site challenges
