Freeberg Industrial Fabrication has expanded into Eloy, Arizona with a new 160,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility designed for large-scale electro mechanical systems and reciprocating engine power generation packages. As part of this growth, the company is hiring for a Safety Manager position.

Role Overview

The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures throughout all operations in the shop and throughout the facility. This includes oversight of painting booths and other hazardous areas

This role will ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, promote a proactive safety culture, and lead safety training and inspections.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures for all operations in the shop and throughout the many areas that include painting booths, welding, cutting, bending, shearing, and many general materials handling.

Conduct safety inspections and audits of shops, equipment, and work processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.

Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses to prevent workplace injuries and equipment damage.

Design and deliver training programs for employees on personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, machine safety, fire prevention, and emergency protocols.

Monitor employee adherence to safety programs and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Maintain safety records, training, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance and internal audits.

Collaborate with supervisors and management to integrate safety into production planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stay updated on new industry safety standards, technologies, and best practices specific to metal fabrication and manufacturing. Must do training in all aspects of safety. Will work with other Safety Officers in training and reporting.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred). Equivalent experience in industrial or metal fabrication settings may be accepted.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA certifications are highly desirable.

Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management within manufacturing or metal fabrication.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA codes, and ANSI standards.

Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills to guide employees on safety practices.

Ability to analyze reports, identify hazards, and implement proactive solutions to prevent incidents.

Hands-on experience with risk assessments and safety audits in industrial environments.

Collaborate with plant leadership and operations teams to foster a strong safety culture.

This is a full-time position in our Eloy, Arizona brand new state-of-the-art facility.

This position operates in both an office environment and on the manufacturing production floor, requiring regular presence throughout the facility to conduct inspections, audits, training, and incident response activities.

The manufacturing floor is climate-controlled industrial fabrication shop with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, welding fumes, paint vapors, dust, and metal particulates.

The Safety Manager must be comfortable working in this environment and must model proper PPE use at all times while on the production floor.

Physical demands include the ability to walk the production floor and all facility areas several times per day, sit at a desk for extended periods for administrative tasks, and safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 35 pounds. Standard business hours apply; however, availability outside normal hours may be required to respond to workplace emergencies, incidents, or regulatory matters. Occasional travel may be required for regulatory agency meetings, industry conferences, or off-site safety-related training.

Must be able to pass a drug screening, background check and E-Verify.

Pay is $30-$40 depending on level of experience.
