SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector works under the Quality performing Quality Control inspection on composite tiles

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspects incoming materials and parts visually and mechanically form outside vendors to ensure conformance to specifications and certifications.
  • Performs in-process inspection of parts and operations at any stage of production.
  • Performs finished parts inspection prior to shipping to confirm specification shave been met.
  • Performs inspections as required using height gauges, micrometers, indicators, tape measures, calipers, optical comparators, and scales.
  • Prepares parts and respective paperwork for customer or source inspection.
  • Creates legible Inspection Reports recording the results of inspection and keeps documentation organized.
  • Supports other Quality Department tasks as needed
  • Supports the overall business through the timely completion of inspection and documentation tasks

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read simple blueprints/sketches
  • Maintains accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must have a good understanding of basic arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Material handling and Forklift experience preferred
  • Strong time management and commitment to get the job done

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to move about a large manufacturing facility.

Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds.

Must be able to wear PPE as necessary (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.
