Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and customer-focused Computer, Server and Network Technician to join our team.
This role combines in-store customer service with onsite technical support at clients homes and businesses. The successful candidate will diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server, and network issues while helping maintain secure and reliable IT systems.
You will also collaborate with our IT team on infrastructure upgrades, ongoing maintenance, and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Assist customers with their technical needs in-store
Travel to clients homes and businesses to provide onsite technical support
Diagnose and resolve issues involving servers, desktops, laptops, and other devices
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software
Set up, configure, and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network cabling
Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, connectivity, and network-performance issues
Help maintain secure network operations and configurations
Perform routine maintenance, security updates, and system upgrades
Conduct system backups and assist with data-recovery operations
Install and maintain peripheral devices, including printers and scanners
Provide technical support to customers and team members
Document service requests, incidents, completed work, and system changes
Collaborate with the IT team on network and server infrastructure upgrades
Communicate technical information clearly and professionally
Deliver excellent customer service and build strong client relationships
Escalate complex technical issues when necessary
Qualifications
One to three years of relevant computer, server, network, or technical-support experience
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field
Bachelors degree is preferred
Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software
Knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems
Experience setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting servers
Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking technologies
Experience working with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills
Professional, reliable, and comfortable working directly with customers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid full Ontario G drivers licence
Access to a reliable personal vehicle for onsite visits
Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check
Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or another recognized network-professional certification, are considered an asset.
