OB/GYN Laborist Overview

A Level II Trauma Center is seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN Laborist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity providing 24-hour call coverage. This inpatient position offers 2-3 call shifts per month, temporary privileges for qualified candidates, and the opportunity to work alongside an experienced midwife in a collaborative labor and delivery environment.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Inpatient
• Start Date: ASAP upon credentialing
• Contract Length: Ongoing
• Schedule: 2-3 24-hour call shifts per month (weekdays preferred)
• Call: 24-hour in-house call with a 30-minute response time
• EMR: Epic
• Temporary Privileges: Yes

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide laborist coverage for labor and delivery patients
• Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Manage VBAC deliveries
• Evaluate and manage low- and high-risk obstetric patients
• Perform fetal heart rate interpretation and routine obstetric procedures
• Perform minor and major gynecologic procedures as needed
• Collaborate closely with the onsite midwife and hospital care team

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABMS or AOA)
• Fellowship required
• Active North Dakota medical license
• Comfortable working with a midwife
• Proficient in VBACs and cesarean deliveries
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
