Pay: $23.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule is 6am-2:30 Monday through Friday.


We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. This position is ideal for a mechanically skilled professional with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.

The Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and component replacement while helping ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical issues by reviewing work orders and inspecting vehicle performance
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
  • Assist with annual DOT maintenance inspections
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace vehicle components including:
    • Brakes
    • Suspension systems
    • Drivetrains
    • Steering systems
    • HVAC systems
    • Air ride systems
  • Service lubrication, cooling, exhaust, air, and hydraulic systems
  • Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace vehicle assemblies and components
  • Troubleshoot diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
  • Enter repair and work-order information into computer systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Perform additional mechanical duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of mechanical experience preferred
  • Related technical training may substitute for a portion of experience
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Willingness to obtain a CDL after hire - training provided
  • Diesel and heavy-duty vehicle repair experience strongly preferred
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Experience with Detroit Diesel 6V92 and Series 50 engines is a plus
  • Must be comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

The original position also requires the ability to provide personal tools and includes physical requirements such as lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working in confined spaces. Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic 202


Compensation

$23.00 per hour
