Job Description Overview

- Keep the DC area neat, clean, and up to Roche standards.
- Update DCIM with information regarding new, upgraded, or deinstalled hardware.
- Manage service requests through our ticketing tool, ServiceNow.
- Escort third-party vendors and other personnel through the Data Center.
- Run pre-terminated cables (Single Mode, Multimode, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A) and dress them neatly.
- Install hardware (Networking, Compute, Storage, etc.) into racks, connect to power, Ethernet, and KVM, and properly label all hardware, cables, and materials.
- Install rack-mounted PDUs and set up network interfaces - must have console experience
- Participate in projects to deinstall, replace, or upgrade hardware.
- Manage stock of spares, parts, and materials, including placing replacement orders.
- Under the direction of an engineer, replace FRUs in hardware (fans, power supplies, disk drives, memory, etc.).
- Consult with engineering on new installs, replacements, and deinstalls.
- Perform on-call and after-hours support as needed.
- Handle logistics (picking up packages, shipping between sites, etc.).
- Manage e-waste for IT components leaving the Data Center.
