Low Voltage Security Technician

About the Role
Broad Shield Security Inc. is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to join our installation and service team. This role involves installing, programming, and servicing commercial and residential security systems including CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarm systems throughout the New York metro area.
Responsibilities
- Install and terminate low voltage cabling for security, access control, and CCTV systems
- Mount and configure cameras, NVRs/DVRs, access control panels, and alarm equipment
- Program and test systems to ensure proper function before handoff to clients
- Troubleshoot and repair existing systems during service calls
- Read and interpret blueprints and system diagrams
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work
- Communicate professionally with clients on site
- Travel to job sites throughout the New York metro area
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in low voltage installation (security, CCTV, access control, or structured cabling)
- Working knowledge of CCTV systems, access control hardware, and alarm panels
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and basic blueprints
- Comfortable working at heights, using ladders and lifts as needed
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 30 certification
- NICET certification a plus but not required
