Leasing Consultant - Tax Credit / Affordable Housing

About the Position

We are currently seeking a Leasing Consultant to join a residential community in the Tallahassee, FL area. We are looking for a professional, dependable, and customer-focused individual who can provide an excellent experience for prospective and current residents while supporting the leasing and administrative functions of the community.

Tax Credit / Affordable Housing experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with strong conventional leasing experience who are eager to learn affordable housing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist prospective residents with a friendly and professional approach
• Conduct property tours and showcase available apartment homes
• Respond to leasing inquiries by phone, email, and in person
• Process rental applications and assist with required documentation
• Prepare and maintain accurate resident and leasing files
• Follow up with prospective residents and assist with lease execution
• Assist with resident retention and customer service
• Maintain knowledge of community amenities, availability, pricing, and policies
• Support the property management team with daily administrative tasks
• Ensure leasing activities are completed accurately and in accordance with company and housing requirements
• Maintain a professional and welcoming appearance of the leasing office and community

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous apartment leasing experience preferred
• Tax Credit / LIHTC / Affordable Housing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with income certifications, recertifications, and affordable housing documentation is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Comfortable working with computers and property management software
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player
• Previous experience with property management software such as Yardi, RealPage, OneSite, or similar is a plus
