Deburring Technician - 2nd Shift

Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM-12:00 AM
Training: 7:00 AM-4:00 PM for approximately two weeks, then transition to 2nd shift

Position Overview
Express Employment is looking for a dependable Deburring Technician/Shop Helper to join a metal manufacturing team. This is a hands-on general labor position in a metal shop environment. No advanced machining experience is required - you will be trained on the job. This position is temp-to-hire.

You will assist with cleaning up and finishing metal parts by using hand tools to remove sharp edges and burrs. This is a physical position that involves standing, bending, handling metal parts, and working in a dusty and dirty shop environment.

Job Duties

• Grind and remove burrs and sharp edges from metal parts
• Use hand tools and basic power tools as instructed
• Inspect finished pieces for rough edges or imperfections
• Move and handle metal parts and materials
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Perform general shop and production duties as needed
• Follow safety procedures and instructions
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing/metal shop environment
• Comfortable using hand tools and learning new tools and processes
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical work
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable attendance and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a dusty, dirty, industrial environment

Previous experience is helpful but not required

Training & Schedule
You will begin by training on 1st shift, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, for approximately two weeks. After training is completed, you will transition to the regular 2nd shift schedule of Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM-12:00 AM.

What to Expect
This is a hands-on shop position that can be physically demanding. You will be working around metal parts, grinding equipment, dust, and shop debris. The right candidate is someone who is dependable, comfortable working with their hands, and willing to learn. This position is temp-to-hire and as such, you have the opportunity to get hired on permanently with the company should you succeed on the temporary segment of the assignment.
