Shift: Mon-Fri: 7:00 AM frequent overtime

PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITES

Follow prescribed inspection methods and procedures to production planning documents, drawings, and other instructions, performs necessary inspection of parts, sub-assemblies, raw stock, tools, and gauges to ensure conformity to specifications and dimensions. Maintains logs of inspection activities and prepares reports. Works under general supervision and guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Performs inspection of parts, sub-assemblies, castings, forgings, and final products, and incoming raw stock, to determine conformance to alignment, contour, functionality, and dimensional specifications.
• Performs specific inspection tasks for parts and sub-assemblies.
• Analyzes Engineering drawings, technical specifications, planning documents, and requirements to determine conformance.
• Performs inspection using various measuring devices (calipers, height gages, micrometers, visual inspection tools, etc.).
• Records inspection results on appropriate forms and computer systems.
• Supports calibration activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent;
• Preferred 1 to 2 years of production, quality assurance experience; and/or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and planning documents and follow verbal instructions in English and prepare inspection reports.
• Must be familiar with manufacturing environment.
• Must have general knowledge of inspection tools and ability to learn inspection techniques.
• Must be able to prepare inspection reports and input data into the computer.
