Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled, passionate Welding & Fabrication Teacher to lead our high school Fabrication program and spearhead our Dual Credit Welding program. In this role, you won't just teach a trade; you will mentor young people, manage a fully equipped shop, and bridge the gap between high school and post secondary/industry success.

Key Responsibilities Instruction & Mentorship

• Teach high school Fabrication courses.
• Lead the Dual Credit welding curriculum, ensuring students meet both high school graduation and post secondary technical training requirements.
• Foster a safe, structured, and supportive shop environment rooted in Gospel values of respect, stewardship, and community.

Shop Management & Safety

• Maintain, organize, and manage all shop equipment.
• Enforce rigorous safety protocols and cultivate a "safety first" mentality among students.
• Manage inventory, order consumables (wire, gas, steel), and oversee the program budget.

Community & Industry Connections

• Serve as the primary liaison with our post secondary Dual Credit partner.
• Participate in school community life (e.g., staff prayer, school liturgies, or faith based professional development).

Qualifications & Skills

• Journeyman Welding Certificate / Red Seal (or equivalent regional master level credential) is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in multiple welding processes and blueprint reading.
• Previous experience mentoring apprentices or teaching youth is a massive asset.

Education & Licensing

• Valid Teaching Certificate/License (or willingness to obtain an alternative/vocational teaching pathway certificate through the province).
• Alternative: Significant industry experience with a commitment to pursuing a vocational teaching pathway (we will help support the right candidate through this process).

Cultural Fit

• Comfortable working within a Catholic educational environment and supporting the faith mission of the school.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
