What You ll Do:
  • Deliver primary care medical services to detainees in accordance with scope of practice
  • Perform physical assessments, diagnose, and develop treatment plans
  • Provide clinical oversight and consultation to healthcare staff
  • Manage acute and chronic health conditions for diverse patient populations
  • Respond to medical emergencies within the facility
  • Maintain thorough documentation in electronic health records
  • Support facility quality improvement and compliance initiatives

What You Need:
  • Valid state medical license in Louisiana
  • DEA license for prescribing controlled substances
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience, board eligibility or certification preferred
  • BLS/CPR certification through AHA or ARC
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and cultural competency skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish skills preferred but not required
