Job Description Job Description Level 1 Fiber Optic Technician Position Summary We are seeking motivated and reliable Level 1 Fiber Optic Technicians to join our growing telecommunications team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in fiber optics and telecommunications infrastructure. Technicians will assist with the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cabling systems while working under the supervision of senior technicians and project leads. Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of fiber optic cable, conduit, and telecommunications equipment.
• Pull, route, and secure fiber optic and low-voltage cabling.
• Assist with fiber splicing and termination activities.
• Perform basic testing and troubleshooting using fiber testing equipment.
• Read and follow construction drawings, schematics, and work orders.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Follow all safety procedures and customer site requirements.
• Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials.
• Keep job sites clean, safe, and professional.
• Support senior technicians with project completion and service activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous telecommunications, construction, or electrical experience preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to learn fiber optic installation, testing, and splicing techniques.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively within a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working outdoors and at varying heights when required.
• Ability to travel to project locations as needed.
