Are you passionate about improving access to quality dental care? Our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Allentown, Pennsylvania is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Dental Hygienist to join our growing dental team. In this role, you'll provide preventive oral healthcare to patients of all ages while helping improve the health and well-being of an underserved community.

What You'll Do

As a Dental Hygienist, you will:

  • Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and periodontal evaluations.
  • Provide preventive services including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride treatments, sealants, and periodontal maintenance.
  • Obtain and interpret dental radiographs.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, disease prevention, nutrition, and home care techniques.
  • Assist in identifying oral pathology and communicate findings to the dentist.
  • Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants, and medical providers to coordinate patient care.
  • Accurately document patient care within the electronic dental record.
  • Maintain infection control standards in accordance with OSHA, CDC, and Pennsylvania regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach activities as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
  • Active Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
  • Current Local Anesthesia Certification (or ability to obtain if required).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care.
Preferred
  • Previous experience in an FQHC, community health center, public health clinic, or high-volume dental practice.
  • Experience caring for pediatric and medically underserved populations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills.
