Civil Estimator

Sunesis Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our growing team in Lexington, Kentucky. This position plays a key role in preparing competitive bids for site development, utility, roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects throughout the region.

Responsibilities:

• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost estimates
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Prepare bid proposals and support bid submissions
• Collaborate with project management and operations teams on project strategy
• Analyze project risks, opportunities, and production costs

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
• Experience with earthwork, utilities, roadwork, site development, or bridge projects
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and cost analysis
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid (highly preferred)
• Experience estimating DOT, municipal, or public infrastructure projects
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
