About Us
Auditory Vision Productions is a Salt Lake City live event production and
equipment rental company - audio, lighting, LED video walls, laser shows,
staging, and structures. We're small, we're growing, and we're adding the
back-office seat that keeps growth from turning into a mess.
The Role
You are the person who knows where the money is.
This is the administrative and financial backbone of a working production
company: invoices going out, bills going in, hours getting tracked, deposits
getting chased, and every transaction documented well enough that nothing has to
be reconstructed from memory six months later.
It's a real bookkeeping seat with real responsibility, at a company small enough
that you'll see the whole picture instead of one slice of it.
What You'll Do
- Billing and AR. Generate and send invoices, track deposits and balances,
follow up on what's outstanding, and flag anything aging.
- AP and purchasing support. Prepare purchase orders and vendor payments for
owner approval, track what was ordered against what arrived, and keep vendor
terms and contacts current.
- Payroll processing. Run payroll through our payroll platform, verify hours
against timesheets, and keep employee records clean and current.
- Hours monitoring. Track hours across the team against budget and flag
anyone trending over before it becomes a problem - including your own.
- Accounts and reconciliation. Keep the books current, reconcile accounts,
categorize transactions correctly, and keep supporting documentation attached
to every entry.
- Documentation. Maintain organized, auditable records - receipts,
contracts, quotes, invoices, vendor agreements. If it involved money, it
should be findable.
- Year-end support. Assemble and organize documentation for our CPA at tax
time and answer their questions accurately.
Final approval on purchases stays with ownership, and our CPA handles the tax
filings. Your job is to make sure both of them are working from clean, complete,
accurate records.
Pay and Hours
$10/hour W-2 from your first day, including training. Up to 20 hours a week to
start, reviewed at 60 days and monthly after that.
Worth saying plainly: this role is judged partly on efficiency. Getting the work
done well in fewer hours is a feature, not a problem, and it factors into
reviews. If you're the kind of person who builds a system so the job takes half
as long next month, you'll do well here.
Who We're Looking For
- Accounting, finance, or business background - coursework, certificate, or
prior bookkeeping experience all count
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and accounting or bookkeeping software
- Genuinely detail-oriented. Numbers either tie out or they don't.
- Discreet. You'll see payroll, margins, and vendor pricing.
- Organized enough to build a filing system and then actually use it
- Able to tell the owner when something looks wrong
Students welcome. QuickBooks, Xero, or similar experience is a plus but we'll
train the right person.

FB4s and sixteen FB3s. We hold an FDA variance for Class 3B and Class 4 laser
show production, which very few companies our size do.
The work is genuinely photogenic, and right now almost nobody outside the
industry knows we exist. That's the job.
